Evaluation

This is my final evaluation which presents some questions and answers about the final thriller opening production

Mind Games - Final production

This is our final piece after the finishing touch ups from our previous rough cuts. To improve it we edited some of the scenes in making them run smoother particularly the toilet scene where it had previously appeared jumpy. We also timed the beep at the start of the thriller opening to run on time with the opening credits.

Rough cut II

This is our second rough cut which was taken at our new location Trinity at Bowes. It differs from the first rough cut as we completely cut out the last corridor scene and the scene with the boys coming through the doors towards the camera. This was because we managed to obtain people who were more reliable in sticking with our time table of filming and also the new location did not leave us as pressured on time as we had in school. However although we decided on the story of our opening we found that some scenes seemed a little jumpy particularly in the toilet scene in the mirror. For our final production we made sure of it to appear smoother through zooming into the frame so that the same mid-shot of the characters in the mirror were viewed. We were also unsatisfied with the very ending of the credits 'mind games' as we believed it to be too fast and wished for it to remain on the screen a little longer before disappearing.

Rough cut I

This was our first rough cut which was all filmed in school. The scenes such as the toilets and the corridor differ from our final piece as we had to move the production to another building. We also decided to change the story line as it was unclear what was happening in terms of the scenes linking in together. This was partly because some of the cast were unable to make it in certain days during filming which meant we had to try and fit around a schedule where it would be convenient to have everyone present who we needed. There were also issues in the toilet scene where the nurse enters as some shots were not taken well in terms of consistency of character placement in the shot. Because of this the shooting appeared to be jumping from different position of the character such as the nurse as she enters with her back facing the camera and leads straight into a shot where she is standing towards it.

Storyboard III

This is our third and final storyboard which we have had to change a couple times due to the story line being forced to change because of filming issues in the school. It differs from the previous ones as it involves other characters and a different scene such as the lift. This meant we had to terminate our other idea of the crowd ending in the corridor as we would not have been able to have our male characters such as Mario who played an important role in our thriller opening.
